Life with Boys
Follow me! You know you want to.

Today was the day for errands!

Though in our quest for Iron Man to recognize Dean as his biggest fan, we do have another tidbit… well two actually.  I had some errands to run today, and of course as soon as I started to get dressed, Dean noticed and asked if we could go to the store.

“Go store, Mama?” He asked while tugging on my robe.

“Why do you need to go to the store?” I asked, already knowing the answer.

“Mama, Man Now store?”  He asked me, and I just laughed.  Yep, I was right, knew that would be the answer.

So, I got cleaned up, got Dean dressed, Roy got dressed, and we set out, but I needed to go to the hospital and doctor’s office first to take care of some co-pays (Yuck!).

“No, Mama!  No go play and have fun!”  Dean looked like he was about to cry in the backseat.

“He thinks you are going to the gym, woman!  Way to go.” Roy jokingly admonished me. We take the same road to get to the gym as we do to get to the hospital. And Dean thought he was going to have to go to the kid care center there.

“Honey, mommy just has to make a few stops and then we can go to the store, ok?” I relayed.

I don’t think he believed me, and he commenced looking miserable in the back seat.  Well, I ran to the hospital, then to the doctor’s office, and then to the Post Office.  Finally, done with the errands, I jumped into the car and headed for Target.  You could see the relief on his face as he started to recognize the way to the “Man Now store.”

I fussed at Roy for something, and he fussed at me, and I could see Dean perking up.

“Hey.”  He yelled at us from the backseat.

“Hey, guys… no fighting, k?”  I think he got this from Ni Hao, Kai Lan.  (the only other show he likes to watch) And gosh, it is just so cute to hear him say that!

Anyways, we got into Target and did our thing, gradually working our way back to the toy section.  Before I knew it, he was oogling the Iron Man toys.

Now, here is my plea:  Whomever makes the Iron Man toys, how about some new merchandise?  Please?  Maybe some new action figures, something!  Please?  Ok?  Please?  Pretty please?

Well, he found a new Iron Man toy (from the Marvel set), and daddy let him get some gummies, so he was pretty darn excited.

Now, let me say this… this was the toughest trip to Target for me… EVER!  Yesterday, Roy and I braved a Body Pump class at our local gym, and while I think it was an awesome workout, my legs are so sore.  Walking down the stairs is rough, walking into the store, even though I was freezing, was a most painful process.  But as Roy likes to tell me, “No Pain, No Gain!”

And much to my complete and utter happiness, I put on a pair of old jeans this morning (a pair that was too tight for me to wear comfortably a month ago), and they fit!  I can wear them comfortably!  I am so excited to see my hard work finally paying off!

Unfortunately, while at Target, I got an armband for my iPod, and it was messed up, AND I grabbed a pack of underwear… that ended up being granny panties!  YUCK!  So, now I have to make a trip back to the store to exchange them.  Oh, well… perhaps I will treat myself to a new pair of pants for the gym… and maybe I’ll splurge and get a new sports bra, while I’m at it!
