R watches this show on our Netflix Instant que. Man Vs. Food. Frankly, the show is fascinating! Adam Richman travels around the country seeking out unique food challenges. We recently watched one where he was challenged to eat six of the HOTTEST wings out there. These wings were so hot that Richman was crying one wing into the challenge. Other feats are eating a five pound burger that is brought out on a pizza tray-just some really crazy stuff. Anyways, we were watching and Richman visited a diner that specialized in a dish with sauteed peppers, topped with a sausage patty, then a fried egg. It looked great, and I thought “How hard can that be!” I went to the store, bought everything, and came home to try my hand at what I called “Veggie Scrambles with Eggs and Sausage.” Well, it wasn’t all that. The veggies were good-Red and green peppers, with onions and garlic. Sauteed in a little Olive Oil, soy sauce, Wort. sauce and sesame oil. Yep, tasty. C wanted to help out, so I put him in charge of the eggs…he had a rough time, and by the time the sausage patties were done on the grill, we had two eggs done. R was hungry, so he suggested we jsut scramble the eggs. I figured why not, who wants to eat cold sausage and veggies? So I got to cracking. Egg shells are flying everywhere, “R” is telling me to hurry up, and the kids are looking at me with that look on their face. You know the one that says, “mom, give us some food or we might stage a revolt!” Well, five minutes later we sat down and the best thing about the meal was the toast I put on a plate as an after thoughts. Obviously, the diner in Chicago is doing something I missed!
